The University of Maryland community is invited to honor and remember the life and legacy of 1st Lt. Richard W. Collins III at the Dedication of Lt. Richard Collins III Plaza.

This event is open to all. RSVPs are appreciated, but not required.

Studio A: Paint Nights are the perfect opportunity to relax and create with friends. There are instructors on hand, but zero pressure – what you paint is totally up to you! Attendees will get an 8x10 canvas, paint, and brushes, and can drop in any time during the 6 to 8 p.m. block during the second and fourth Thursday of each month.

Wags for Wellness sessions feature registered therapy animal teams. Each team consists of at least one dog and one human. Each of the volunteer teams has been trained by People. Animals. Love. (PAL) to provide love, connection, companionship, and stress relief. These therapy dog visits also serve as a great outlet for emotional wellbeing while connecting with other loving pets for our students who may be missing their childhood or family pets. In an effort to monitor attendance and implement COVID safety procedures, we will ask students to sign-up for a 15-minute time slot in advance.

The University of Maryland offers access to over $600K in funding to startups founded to commercialize University innovations. Find out details about funding programs to validate technology, form your startup, enhance R&D, and others. We will also discuss some startup opportunities available to any state of Maryland-based startups, or University System of Maryland affiliated startups.

Each year, this event provides an opportunity for our community to come together and honor those among us who have worked to make UMD a better place for LGBTQ+ people. Whether you have been involved in the LGBTQ+ community at UMD or not, we encourage all to attend and celebrate the excellence and resilience of all graduates and award winners. All questions should be directed to Shantala Thompson at shantala@umd.edu.  

The Latina/o/x Graduation Celebration is a commemoration that recognizes Latina/o/x graduates at the University of Maryland. The purpose of the celebration is to highlight the success and achievements of Latina/o/x graduates as well as to establish an institutionally-acknowledged cultural space at the University of Maryland.
