Celebrate Black-owned businesses with the Dingman Center and Southern Management Leadership Program at this third annual event. Students will hear about the panelists' career journeys and have a chance to participate in a Q&A session with the founders.

Sell your product or service to UMD students, faculty and staff at Terp Marketplace! Find out if what you have is a product or service people want and the price they are willing to pay. The Dingman Center will provide UMD student entrepreneurs with a table, chair, and tablecloth. Vendors bring their products, marketing materials, a sign with your name/logo and anything else to add to your table.

Participation is free and is open to all current UMD students. UMD/Terp-themed merchandise must be properly licensed.

Exclusively for both current and alumni members of Terp Startup, Pitch Dingman Finalists and Startup Shell, Founders Forum is an opportunity to continue honing our entrepreneurial skills, to learn from our peers, and to catch up with one another. Each month, we’ll deep dive a new topic related to running your businesses in a roundtable style, while also making time to socialize and chat.

Dingman Fridays advising sessions will be held every Friday of the semester from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. On the first Friday of the month, Dingman Fridays will be held in-person at the Dingman Center offices in Van Munching Hall and the rest of the events will be held virtually. These sessions are open to all UMD students, staff and alumni. Venture mentors, subject matter experts, guest advisors and Dingman staff are available to listen to your idea, offer feedback and provide actionable next steps.

On Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m. meet with a Dingman Center team member virtually on Zoom. During these brief 1:1 sessions, a team member will introduce you to the center and aim to match you with the resources, advisors, funding, programming, or other support you need.

Pitch Dingman Competition, the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship’s signature annual Shark Tank-style competition, provides the university’s most talented student entrepreneurs the opportunity to compete for seed funding and exclusive access to venture development resources. This year, the Dingman Center is offering more prize money than ever before and three competition tracks for University of Maryland students to compete.
